About the Site:

Spontaneous Presence Dharma Translations is a site created by translator Joseph Faria to create an outlet for his personal translations as well as to allow open-access to English translations of Tibetan Buddha Dharma for interested persons. Sharing of any translation on this site is permitted for individuals and organizations, with the hopes that it will be used for the study and practice of authentic dharma. Giving credit to the translator (i.e. name and contact info) is encouraged when using any of the translations on this site.

Translations are only posted to this website if deemed appropriate for the public and if the translations are deemed accurate by the translator. Please forgive any errors or flaws found in the translations posted to this site; translations are always mere interpretations and though one may certainly refine their ability to translate well, perfection is an unattainable goal.

Only original translations will be posted to this website.

About the Translator:

Joseph Faria is an American born translator of dharma who currently lives in Kathmandu, Nepal where he works and studies. Studying at Rangjung Yeshe Institute since 2012, Joseph recently graduated with a Master's Degree from the institute in Buddhist Studies, writing his thesis on the Mahāmudrā views of the Eighth Karmapa Mikyö Dorjé (please follow the link below for access to the thesis). Currently, Joseph is involved with freelance translation work (textual and oral), as well as instructing the Translator Training program at RYI and colloquial Tibetan language courses at both RYI and the School for International Training (SIT) in Boudhanath, Nepal. Joseph's main spiritual teacher is Yongé Mingyur Dorjé Rinpoche, but he also has deep spiritual connections (direct or indirect) with H.H. Karmapa Ogyen Trinlé Dorjé, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Sangngak Tenzin Rinpoche, and others. Joseph is currently a recipient of the Tsadra Foundation's Advanced Studies Scholarship, allowing him to continue studying Buddhist texts in the Tibetan tradition from authentic monastic scholars.
